ABOUT

Nir Tsfaty is a Melbourne-based singer-songwriter, composer and 2023 APRA Screen Music Awards nominee.

 

Tsfaty's new release, UNDER THE SUN, marks his fourth studio album and solo debut. The EP captures an intimate, dreamy reflection of everyday life in 2020, pushing and extending the boundaries of his artistry. His latest work is a poetic exploration in the combination of soft alternative rock and classical string quartet.

 

Tsfaty has previously released three studio albums with his bands Noria and Bell Always: Anthers EP, Clear Backgrounds and Daylight Slowly Fades. Three of the album singles earned the Song of the Week title on Israeli national radio 88fm.

Since his relocation to Melbourne in 2019, Tsfaty has collaborated with Invictus Quartet and performed a series of headline shows titled About Whales, including sold-out debut nights at Melbourne Recital Centre in July 2021 and Wesley Anne, and live videos recorded at Meat Market in Melbourne.

 

Along with his performing career, Nir is the Music Director at Production Alley Studios and has established himself as a sought-after screen composer. He has worked on numerous award-winning projects in advertising with clients including ABC, Respect Victoria, iSelect(Bronze winner, 2022 New York Festivals Advertising Awards), Collarts and more. In 2023, Nir was nominated in the Best Music for a Short Film category in the 2023 APRA Screen Music Awards for his original soundtrack for Scorpion Ascent by director Yaniv Linton.
